Creative Studio Memberships in Philadelphia

Kreate Hub Philadelphia is housed in the historic Thomas Powers School, a landmark 1899 schoolhouse in Port Richmond that educated generations of Philadelphians for more than a century. After sitting vacant for years, the building was carefully brought back to life, preserving original details such as oak floors, pressed tin ceilings, arched corridors, and classroom chalkboards while transforming the former school into a creative center for artists, makers, designers, entrepreneurs, technologists, and independent businesses. In a city known for murals, street art, music, design, and a creative culture shaped by communities from across Philadelphia, Kreate Hub has created a place that reflects that diversity. The restoration earned recognition for historic preservation and adaptive reuse, while giving this century old building a new purpose. A place once built to educate the next generation is now helping the next generation create, build, and grow.

Jocelyn Rolon (J Rollyn) Muralist & Character Illustrator

Jocelyn Rolon, known creatively as J Rollyn, is a Philadelphia based artist and hairstylist working across murals, character illustration, creative design, braiding, and locs. She studied entrepreneurship and turned her two biggest passions, art and hair, into a career and business of her own.

At Kreate Hub Philadelphia, Jocelyn painted her first mural, an experience that pushed her outside her comfort zone and opened a new chapter in her artistic career. She is now developing a series of canvases for an upcoming collection while continuing to grow both sides of her business.

Jocelyn’s favorite part of the Kreate Hub community is the freedom to create, both in her own studio and throughout the building, alongside other artists she can connect with and learn from.
